El Templo Dorado, en Amritsar.
Amritsar (punjabi: ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ, hindi: अमृतसर), que quiere decir El Estanque del Néctar de la Inmortalidad,1 es una ciudad del estado de Panyab, en la India. Se encuentra ubicada en el noroeste del país. Cuenta con aproximadamente 1.100.000 habitantes (2005). Fue fundada en 1577 y es el centro de una de las religiones practicadas en la India, el sijismo (el Templo Dorado).
